“If you can dream it, you can do it; remember that it all started with a mouse.” This quote, which encourages us to believe in our dreams, is by Walt Disney. We feel so connected to it that you can read our own adaptation of the idea on the cover of our sewing notebook: “if you can dream it, you can sew it.” What do you think about dreaming up and sewing a few beautiful projects with Mickey Mouse sewing tutorials?

We don’t know what it is about Mickey and Minnie, but when you’re a fan, you’re a fan forever! And kids love them too, almost more than we do. That’s why these tutorials are designed mainly for them, although you can also use some of the techniques we teach you to personalize your own clothes, T-shirts, bags, backpacks, or whatever you like.

Come on, let’s get to them and let the magic begin!

Mickey Mouse sewing tutorials. And Minnie too, of course ;)

Mickey and Minnie Bibs

There are so many ways to make a bib, but if your little one is the kind of kid who gets food all the way to the ceiling when they eat—without you understanding how—you’ll love the model in the photo. In this tutorial, we teach you how to make the bib, along with the Mickey and star appliqués.

Once you know how to make the appliqués, you can use them on any bib style or garment you like.

Here are all our bib tutorials, so you can add Mickey and Minnie to whichever model you want:

And if you don’t have time and would like us to make one for you, you can order your favorite from the Personalized Bibs section. You can also see more photos of really cute bibs there for inspiration.

Personalized Crowns

Fabric crowns are a huge hit at birthday parties. Although you don’t need to be celebrating anything or have a party for kids to wear one on their heads all day long.

Now that you’ve seen how to make Mickey appliqués, adding them to one of these beautiful crowns will be a piece of cake. You have several options:

Much better than an appliqué, a 3D Mickey!

Mickey or Minnie Stuffed Toy

A Mickey or Minnie appliqué on any garment is the secret to making kids adore it. But not nearly as much as they’ll love and cuddle this stuffed toy. Soft, squishy, and with Velcro on the buttons and bow tie so they can play at putting them on and taking them off.

In the tutorial, Laura also explains the modifications you need to make for it to be Minnie instead of Mickey:

Mickey or Minnie Costume

He’ll have a wonderful time, but you’ll be completely smitten

As you can see, we’ve raised the stakes! Mickey’s stuffed toy was adorable, but seeing kids in this costume is enough to make you fall completely in love.

We recommend making one of the bibs we linked above (for yourself) for when you dress your little one in this costume. You’re going to need it! These are the tutorials for making the different parts of the costume:

And now, go make magic with these Mickey Mouse sewing tutorials, just like in the movie Fantasia!

Happy sewing :)
