1. Kimono.
This garment isn't just a basic for these first chilly days, when the sun is out but you no longer dare to wear short sleeves. By varying the fabric's weight or GSM, color, or material, you can turn it into a garment for the whole year.
You can make it longer, all the way to your feet, for a special occasion when you want to look more dressed up, or shorter to pair with jeans or anything else. You can choose a more floral, bohemian fabric, or, if your tastes are more understated, make it from a solid fabric.
2. Wide-leg overalls.
We know you love overalls—and really, who doesn't? For the tutorial, we made ours with a yarn-dyed cotton fabric, but if you make them from corduroy, you can wear them even in winter. Although they may seem like a very basic, everyday garment, if you put your own spin on them and find a more elegant fabric, you can even make yourself a pair of overalls for New Year's Eve.

3. Buttonless knit cardigan
Without a doubt, this type of cardigan is a basic you can't be without.
We wear it for everything: to go out to dinner one night, on those mornings when it already feels chilly, and during those moments when your coworkers have the office air conditioning blasting.
It's practical, incredibly versatile, and if it bothers you, you can tuck it into your purse, and you're all set!
It's so easy to sew that, if you want, you can make a different one for every occasion.
4. Harem Pants
We mentioned them in our last clothing post, but they're just soooo comfortable, and we like them sooo much. This is another incredibly adaptable garment. If you're more sporty and like stretchy clothes, you can make them from knit fabric, but if you prefer to look more dressed up, you can make a pair like the ones in the photo, from viscose or crepe.
These pants are also ideal if you're pregnant, since the waistband doesn't squeeze at all, and you can make it wider so it covers your belly.
5. Wrap Blouse
This little blouse is IDEAL. Like the rest of today's recommendations, it's an incredibly versatile garment that can look completely different just by changing the type of fabric.
For the tutorial, we used modal, but if you prefer, you can use other fabrics such as viscose and turn this basic into something to wear dancing—or even for New Year's Eve!
Also, they're great for moms who breastfeed, since the wrap neckline lets you nurse your little one without many complications.
