Christmas is just around the corner! There’s only one week left, and by now you’ll probably have almost everything ready. The home decorations, the gifts, the dinner menu… But, do you know how you’re going to decorate the Christmas table? With just a couple of these little touches, you can give your table a fabulous look and win over all your guests before they even taste dinner.
Whenever we give you a DIY idea, we point out that the best thing about them is that they can all be personalized and made your own. Starting with the same object, we can apply endless styles and motifs to achieve completely different results. Today we’re going to apply some of the ideas we’ve shared over the past few months to decorate the Christmas table.
ORIGINAL IDEAS FOR DECORATING THE CHRISTMAS TABLE.
1. Advent calendar socks.
Christmas Day has arrived, so you will have already taken out the last of the gifts from the Advent calendar. If you chose to make one of those adorable boot or sock calendars, you can use them as original cutlery holders. If you missed out on yours, it’s on sale in the store to use during the next holiday seasons.
2. Plush decorations.
This year we also published a tutorial on our YouTube channel showing you how to make some plush cacti. Since they go inside an aluminum bucket or flowerpot, they stand on their own. If you make one shaped like a Christmas tree, candle, reindeer or any other Christmas motif, it will look great as a table centerpiece. Wrap the flowerpot with a red ribbon and surround it with a few candles, pinecones or garlands.
3. Pom-poms and felting wool.
If you don’t feel like sewing, a great alternative for the centerpiece is to make a little Christmas tree using natural branches (without leaves). You only need to glue on a few pom-poms or balls of felting wool. You can achieve a result like the one in the photo (seen on Wayaiulandia) with either one. 4. Personalized letters.
Another trend that has been very popular in recent years, and is used for all kinds of events, is decorating tables with personalized letters. They are three-dimensional letters that you can make using different techniques and materials. 5. Fabric flower bouquet.

Fabric flowers are another great resource, especially if you use the Christmas fabrics that we already have on sale on the website. You can use them on their own to place on the plates, tie them to a cord to hold the cutlery, or use them in a beautiful bouquet as a centerpiece, for example. Ideally, your flowers for decorating the Christmas table should feature mostly white and red, the quintessential Christmas colors.
