The first to bring spring to Lulu Ferris were the fabric flowers; then it reached our feet, which began soaking up the sun’s rays inside our personalized beach flip-flops. Today we’re bringing it to you printed in three original and fun designs on premium-quality cotton. We’ve already made our personal selection from the new collection by one of our favorite brands, Art Gallery Fabrics. Born in the USA, this company champions originality and exclusivity as its core values, always looking for a chic, sophisticated touch.
And as usual at our shop, when it comes to good things, we bring you the very best. We’ve dug deep into their latest designs to offer you a fun selection of prints on white from the “morning walk” and “maker” collections. The result is this short post featuring some spring–summer 2015 trends—don’t miss a thing!
Maker Collection.
From this fun line, we selected two designs we loved for their direct connection to the world of sewing and crafting. We’re also bringing you a couple of ideas so you can get a sense of the effect they create and what you can make with them. Both fabrics are made from 100% premium cotton, and you’ll notice their excellent quality and softness—another hallmark of Art Gallery Fabrics.
With the “Make and Pin” design, pins and needles leap across the fabric, creating an elegant, balanced black-and-white result that’s ideal for making cool, versatile garments that will pair with practically any solid color. In the dress shown in the photograph, a simple burlap (sackcloth) belt looks fantastic.
And since sewing tools have decided to make the leap into prints, scissors weren’t going to be left behind. In the “Make the Cut Sharp” design, they become the stars, creating a relaxed yet understated effect that can also be used in many ways. We’ve chosen a couple of examples so you can see how great they look, for example, in a bag, or as a cover for household and/or professional tools, such as an ironing board or a sewing machine.
Morning Walks Collection.
Morning Walks is a collection genuinely inspired by Texas. Leah Duncan, the creator of this colorful, vibrant line, brings images from her regular morning walks around Austin, the Texan capital, into this new series of designs. We’re bringing you the three we liked best, all of them based on the vegetation characteristic of the southern United States.
One of our favorites was undoubtedly “Cacti Field Fun”, where cacti are the stars, a motif that has become very fashionable lately. The result is a very cheerful, fresh design, full of positive energy and endless possibilities, since it lends itself to so many uses. In the photograph, we show you some of Art Gallery Fabrics’ ideas, which focus on dresses and women’s handbags, but the design is also ideal for kids, decorating your home (cushions, blankets, covers…). In short, it’s an all-terrain design!
