We asked our trusted doctor whether seeing Christmas gifts everywhere is serious or whether we need to take action. He told us not to worry—that it's normal in adults with a Peter Pan spirit at this time of year. So we've decided to keep imagining ideal handmade gift kits for boys and girls.
On Monday we set out to invent gifts for kids who read and draw. Today it's the turn of little adventurers and great explorers, of kids who enjoy being Indians more than cowboys. The ones who play at living in harmony with nature, like the blue creatures in Avatar.
We've brought together some sewing-machine-made toys like puzzle pieces, and the result is… the complete Pocahontas kit! When we grow up, we want to be Indians.
Of course, our little big toy quality-control experts, the highly esteemed Jan, Pol, and Sam, have rated the kit EXCELLENT. And in the absence of small female experts, there's always us—we have our inner child very, very much awake.

Handmade gifts for kids who love exploring and adventure
1. Setting out to explore: a hobby horse
It's clear that if we're going out exploring, a suitable mount will help us get farther. That bond between an Indian rider and their horse will help us explore not only the territory, but also our love for animals.
Our hobby horse is so beautiful that it really grabs their attention. The fabric mane jumps and dances when they do, and some say they've even heard it neigh. If you're worried about them hurting themselves on the stick, you can cover it with sponge, foam, or another softer, gentler material.

2. Getting into character: the right outfit
Kids don't really need much to get into character. They just have to imagine it, and it happens. But that doesn't mean they don't love dressing up. So if we're going to cross the great prairies on the back of our horse brother, let's put on our adventure-living uniform.
A comfortable vest, a feather headdress, and we're ready. You can make the vest even more eye-catching by adding fringe, for example, which also looks very Indian-inspired. And we also thought you could make a small dreamcatcher and attach a long cord so they can use it as a magical necklace.

3. Returning to camp: living in an Indian teepee
But even the bravest and most powerful adventurers have to rest. Especially when what awaits them at camp is an authentic Indian teepee. With some soft, fluffy cushions inside, they can close the curtains and fall asleep.
Of all the handmade gifts for kids, this is one of our favorites. A small private, peaceful space where they can read or play, or stop being an Indian whenever they want.
