1. Reversible mask.
One of our essential carnival accessories. In Wednesday’s post, where we recommended some carnival-themed fabrics, we linked to this super-simple tutorial for making a reversible mask in just ten minutes. If you don’t have a sewing machine, it’s so easy that you could even make it using fabric glue.
2. Chef’s hat.
The chef’s hat tutorial is one of the tutorials available through Lulu Ferris. With this little hat, a white shirt, an apron, and a wooden spoon, your little one will become a master chef in no time. Because of its shape, it’s also the perfect accessory for a painter costume. In that case, all you have to do is splatter a shirt with some big paint stains and add a palette, brush, and little Dalí-style mustache :)
3. Fabric wings.
Does your little one want to be a bird? A fairy? A little angel? Any winged creature will be more than happy to proudly show off this beautiful pair of wings. This carnival accessory takes a little more work than the previous ones, but they’re still very easy to make, even though they do require more effort. And they’re magical!

Of course! Our famous birthday crowns are also perfect carnival accessories. They’re perfect for crowning little kings and queens, princes and princesses, but they’re light, soft, and cozy. 5. Turn any garment into a costume with fabric appliqués.
A Superman or Batman symbol? An emblem that identifies you as a vassal of one of the illustrious houses of Game of Thrones? A doctor with the Red Cross? You can turn any basic garment into part of a costume with this incredibly simple appliqué tutorial. And if you’re outfitting a powerful knight or Amazon by sewing a coat of arms onto their chest, don’t forget to provide them with a trusty mount.
