We don’t know what’s been happening to us lately; it’s as if we put on Christmas glasses. Everything we see and do is a potential gift or perfect decoration. Of course, that’s because we have Christmas sewing mode activated: does it happen to you too?
If so, you’ll surely enjoy today’s post ideas, just as you enjoyed some of our favorite Christmas-themed tutorials last week. We left a few really lovely things to show you. Things shaped like reindeer!
And if we’re being honest, we’re almost bigger fans of reindeer than of Santa Claus himself. You’ll understand perfectly when you see these decorating suggestions.
Christmas sewing: reindeer, reindeer, reindeeeer!
1. Christmas panel ready to cut and sew
In our home, handmade Christmas decorations are a must. That’s why we add new elements every year. We have a great time dreaming up new ideas, and the kids love having new little friends and different things to engage with.
When you’re going to make something with your own hands that the little ones at home can also take part in, this Christmas panel ready to cut and sew is wonderful.
If you make it a family craft project, you’ll turn it into something special. You can choose to sew the decorations by machine, by hand, or even use fabric glue so you don’t have to include sharp objects in the equation. A little batting for the filling and cord for hanging, and you’re done!
2. Adult and kids’ apron with a reindeer face
We made this apron last year, and we’re still completely in love with it. It gives you little kitchen helpers in matching uniforms, coordinated with Mom or Dad, and makes them much happier. And it really does make a difference: when you wear your super mini-chef suit, the food turns out much tastier.
You can also take the reindeer appliqué idea to other garments if you don’t think you’ll get much use out of the apron. Either way, you can explore all the possibilities and get inspired by this Lulu Ferris membership tutorial: customized apron for children.

3. Reindeer fabrics: bright and colorful or understated and stylish
Are you looking for a fabric to make whatever you want with, totally freestyle? Clothes for them, a fun touch for yourself, or creating the shapes of the decorations with templates you make at home… We can also help with two suggestions that represent two completely different styles.
The first one, shown above, is the more childlike option: colorful, cheerful, fun, and guaranteed to make the little ones’ eyes light up. Makower’s Scatter Turquoise is pure Christmas spirit and makes you smile just by looking at it.
And then there’s one of our classics: Canvas Buck Forest by Art Gallery Fabrics is just about sold out, but there are still two units left. This one is canvas: thicker and more durable. Keep that in mind depending on what you want to make (how about a Christmas teepee in the living room to keep the little ones delighted?).
Just imagine it…
Imagine whatever you like and then make it a reality! And if it has reindeer, even better.
Happy Christmas sewing ;)
