If there’s one thing that never leaves our checklist when we’re heading to the beach or packing for a trip, it’s a couple of pretty headbands to keep our hair under control. You know that feeling when you’re sweating, unbearably hot, and your hair sticks to you as if it were Velcro? Well, today we’ve brought easy, varied solutions. We’ve collected several ways to make a headband with different designs.
Design really matters. Why make something that’s only practical when it can be practical and beautiful at the same time? Some require a sewing machine (or hand sewing, of course), while others can be made without sewing a single stitch.

Easy, beautiful ways to make a headband1. Celtic-knot headband
Our latest creation: very original and with lots of coverage. 2. Turban-style headband
A very trendy design that can be worn in several ways to give us different looks. A great ally for boho-chic style when you wear it in “decorative mode.” But it’s very effective for keeping your hair under control when you wear it in “functional mode.” In the tutorial, we make it fairly wide so it holds more hair, but you can make it whatever size you like.
3. Turban-style headband without a sewing machine
When we take on simple projects like this one, a sewing machine isn’t the only option. We can also use permanent fabric glue. It can be useful to have this glue at home for all kinds of things, whether you’re making simple projects or even repairing small flaws in all sorts of garments.

4. Bow headband
It’s also very cute for the little ones at home. It’s incredibly easy to make, and the design has a romantic touch that you’ll love. Although we make it with a sewing machine in the tutorial, you could also make it with fabric glue if you wanted to.
5. T-shirt-yarn braid
A different option with countless uses. Instead of using knit fabric, as with the other models, it uses T-shirt yarn to create a versatile, stretchy, fairly wide braid that you can wear as a headband. You can also make a matching bracelet, a belt, or anything else you can think of.

Although we wrote this post in 2016, here’s an update from the future (or is it the past?). Anyway, we have one more headband. This time with woman power style, created especially to celebrate Women’s Day.
