What you’ll make

Sew the fully lined Quebec Jacket, a high-collar zip-front style with two roomy front patch pockets, a smaller flap pocket on the sleeve, and adjustable cuff tabs.

Contrast zipper bands, pockets, and cuff tabs create defined details, while the lining encloses the interior seams.

What you’ll learn in this class

  • Stabilize curved and bias-cut areas.
  • Position patch pockets and a sleeve pocket flap.
  • Enclose a zipper between contrast facing strips.
  • Ease sleeves into the exterior and lining armholes.
  • Assemble and align the high collar.
  • Bag the lining through an opening in one sleeve.
  • Finish the adjustable cuff tabs.

Fabric

Warm options include sherpa, mouflon, coating, corduroy, fine-wale corduroy, and pile fabrics. Canvas or lightweight denim can create a lighter jacket.

Use a separate lining fabric. A contrast fabric can highlight the zipper bands, pockets, and cuff tabs.

Make it your own

Finish the cuff tabs with hook-and-loop tape, snaps, or metal press fasteners. Two fastener positions can provide a looser or tighter cuff setting.

Other outerwear silhouettes include the Prague Trucker Jacket, Joyce Coat, and Maggie Coat.

Sizing and finished length

The pattern covers sizes 34/36–54/56, for bust measurements of 86–132 cm, waist measurements of 64–110 cm, and hip measurements of 90–136 cm.

Finished jacket length is 61 cm for sizes 34/36–42/44 and 66 cm for sizes 46/48–54/56.

The class includes graded A4 and A0 patterns plus the measurement and pattern-information file.
