What you’ll make
Make a lined Kraft-Tex case for sunglasses or prescription glasses, finished with a fabric tie and small tassel. The firm outer material helps the case hold its shape.
The sample combines colorful hand stitching, printed lining fabric and decorative trim for a boho finish.
What you’ll learn in this class
- Cut and fold Kraft-Tex from a printable pattern.
- Mark and hand-stitch a cross-stitch-inspired border.
- Use clips or temporary adhesive instead of pins.
- Make a narrow fabric tie with folded edges.
- Cut, roll and finish a Kraft-Tex tassel around a ring.
- Attach the lining and sew the final case shape.
Fabric and supplies
The project pairs Kraft-Tex with a woven lining. Embroidery thread, a small ring and fabric glue are also used, with lace or another decorative trim as an option.
Make it your own
- Create your own stitched motif, initials, name or word.
- Coordinate the thread, lining and closure tie.
- Make the tassel from Kraft-Tex or fabric.
- Wash and crumple the Kraft-Tex for a textured look.
