What you’ll make
Sew a roomy lined maxi bag with a fabric upper section, contrasting kraft-tex base and long handles attached through four rings.
The open-top bag has a fully lined interior and a patch pocket for keeping smaller belongings within reach.

Working with kraft-tex
Kraft-tex cuts and sews like fabric but feels firm when new. Use it smooth, as demonstrated, or wash and crumple it first for a softer, worn texture.
Use fabric clips on exposed kraft-tex because pin and needle holes remain visible. Avoid repeatedly stitching over the same line.
Make it your own
Replace kraft-tex with canvas or another suitable fabric. Interfacing or batting can add body when the main fabric is lightweight.
Change the bag height, pocket divisions or handle length. Keep the top open, add a button closure or adapt the zipper method from the weekend bag.
Reference measurements
The plan uses 45 cm-wide main panels and starts each fabric handle with a 100 × 5.5 cm strip. Test the handles before securing them so the finished drop suits you.
