What you’ll make

Sew the Bali, a full-length shirt dress with a collar and stand, center button front, shaped waist, short flutter sleeves, and inseam pockets.

The bodice darts and waist sections define the figure before flowing into the long skirt. Wear the finished garment buttoned as a dress or open as a lightweight layer.

Stabilize and organize the shaped pattern pieces.
Sew the bodice darts and shaped waist sections.
Construct inseam pockets in the skirt.
Insert and finish the flutter sleeves.
Build a shirt collar with a separate stand.
Attach and topstitch the front button bands.

Fabric and materials

Choose a lightweight woven fabric with fluid drape. The samples use viscose, and satin is another supported option.

These fabrics can shift during cutting and sewing, so the class emphasizes careful preparation, stabilization, and patient handling.

Shorten the skirt to your preferred length.
Adjust the number or spacing of the buttons.
Wear the dress buttoned or open over other clothing.

Sizing

The pattern covers 34/36 through 54/56. It supports bust measurements of 86–132 cm, waist measurements of 64–110 cm, and hip measurements of 90–136 cm.

The finished dress length ranges from 134 cm in size 34/36 to 144 cm in size 54/56.
