Tutorials for sewing with kids
1. Fabric Weekly Organizer
Look how adorable it is! A project that’s much more enjoyable and fun when you work as a team. With this fabric weekly organizer, there’s a ton of creative and assembly work you can do together.
You can draw the activity pictures, write the days of the week, trace or draw the letters for the appliqués, cut the fabric and Velcro pieces, and glue each element in place… They can even sew a few stitches with your help if they’d like, because as you can see, it’s all made up of very easy-to-sew straight lines.

2. Panda Bear Wall Growth Chart
A super-simple tutorial, perfect for sewing with kids. Have you noticed how much they love measuring themselves? Seeing how much they’ve grown, in such a hurry to be as big as Mom and Dad—or their siblings.
As with the previous tutorial, there are lots of things you can do and decide as a team. You can choose which animal to feature, draw or trace the different facial pieces and the letters of the name, choose the fringe and colors, draw the numbers with chalk, and glue each piece in place with fabric glue before sewing…

3. Fabric collage collage
Another highly creative activity where you can work together to come up with the design and assemble all the pieces. The stitching is more complicated here because the lines aren’t straight: there are lots of curves and tiny details.
To glue all the pieces in place before sewing, we used Paper Fuse, which is a permanent double-sided fusible interfacing. That means the adhesive is very strong, so be careful when placing each piece.
But remember: what matters isn’t that it turns out perfect. If you make cubist or surrealist little monkeys, that’ll be great too ;P
