The first time I walked into Lulu Ferris was about two or three years ago. A beautiful sewing studio in Mataró that was also a store. Or perhaps a store filled with beautiful fabrics that was also a studio. I remember how I felt as I followed her inside. The warm light, the colors, all those beautiful fabrics, the objects arranged so delicately on the shelves… I felt good. Very good.
The space has changed a little since then, but essentially it is still the same. A place filled with something very positive that inspires creativity, where good vibes are everywhere and makes you want to start sewing anything. Even if you have never sewn before :)
Lulu Ferris: your sewing studio in MataróToday, as I sat down to write this post, I was thinking about how important it is to have a space that meets all those conditions. I also thought about how much I would love to write it there, surrounded by that atmosphere where creating fabulous things seems, quite literally, like a breeze. The place where we create and work is incredibly important to the result.
That led me to another idea: if people who don't feel comfortable sewing at home or don't have a suitable space knew how nice it is there… If only they could see it! And suddenly, I remembered some of the old videos from the YouTube channel, where Laura shows the store and the sewing studio in Mataró just as she showed them to me back then.
Since those first videos, Laura has also become much more comfortable in front of the camera, and I don't know, maybe she'll kill me for bringing this magnificent document back. Or maybe she'll die of embarrassment. Although I think that after so many videos, workshops, courses, and days in the store, she's seen it all.
What you're about to see is a day at Lulu Ferris. And although there is now one more baby (little Sam), Pol is already huge, and there are other girls behind the counter, the essence is still the same.
