For one thing, we're launching a new post, and starting today, we'll bring you a new one every Monday. To give these mornings, when getting started can sometimes be a little difficult, a small extra incentive. We promise we'll always try to make you smile and give you something beautiful to think about.
And on the other hand, we'd promised you a surprise. In reality, it will probably excite us much more than it excites you, but you know how much we love sharing news and changes with you. After all, without you, none of this would exist. We're launching a new logo! And we're very curious to know what you think of it.
A logo made with and by love
That's the key. That has always been the key. Love! If you follow the Lulu Ferris tutorials, you've probably noticed more than once that little heart Laura has tattooed on her wrist. A metaphor, a beautiful symbol representing everything she makes with her hands.
When she asked Álex and Miguel, from Copymouse Studio, for a new logo that would represent us, all of you, herself, you who's reading this, and this philosophy that unites and connects us—this love of beautiful things and things made with our own hands… they accepted the challenge. But it was much more difficult than that. Because we love things that are different, and we know you do too. So Laura “forbade” them from using sewing machines, needles, scissors… All those images that are so common in logos related to sewing.
Can you imagine how much he must have suffered with so many “prohibitions” and so much to say in a single symbol?
And then, like a lifebuoy in the middle of an immense sea, that little tattoo emerged. Suddenly, it became interwoven with a few threads, as if it had jumped from skin to fabric. And it was love at first sight.
We haven't been able to stop looking at it. So simple and yet so full of magic, so authentic and so perfectly balanced…
So Lulú Ferris. So you, the one who makes our little heart beat…
