Usually, your home says a lot about who you are, what you like, the things you pay attention to, and what matters to you… in a way, you could say that the way you decorate and organize it reflects who you are. But when kids are involved, the house becomes many other things: a field strewn with toys, an environment where they can feel safe, a space to grow and develop… It stops being your sanctuary and becomes their den too, the threshold from which they can experience and discover the world.

Then all your creativity and personal touch go to work to make their room the most beautiful in the world. You try to build a space that is practical and fun, functional and relaxing, modern and cozy… You want it to have everything!

That's why today we're bringing you some ideas for turning their room (and yours) into a magical place. To do that, we've selected some gorgeous interior design trends and paired them with our prettiest fabrics to help you create truly special spaces. Take note of the different elements and combine them your way.

1. SWEET AND COLORFUL.

habitaciones para pequesThe proposal from @fourcheekmonkeys is sweeeet as a mountain of candy: ice cream cones, pink tones, mint, turquoise, flowers, clouds, raindrops… The result is a bright, colorful, cheerful, and very cozy space. We thought the ideal choice for creating this kind of atmosphere was the pinwheel fabric by Riley Blake, thestars on a pink background by Makeover and Summer Breeze by Riley Blake. This style also works especially well with a colorful flurry or fabrics with animal prints. Although pink tones predominate in this proposal, you can also use it as a reference for recreating this atmosphere in whatever colors your little one likes best.

2. NORDIC BLACK AND WHITE.

habitaciones para pequesA distinctive style that creates a stunning visual impact. In this post we told you a little about Nordic design, its foundations and applications—just as effective for decorating your home's interior as it is for creating highly distinctive clothing. The decorative concept in the image is a space created by Oh.eight.oh.nine and incorporates so many elements that it's worth taking a long look at the photograph. Crosses, triangles, garlands, stars, decals, decorative messages, carefully considered cushions, rugs, geometric shapes everywhere… And the black and white omnipresent, creating that striking effect. Oh, and most importantly, the teepee with its crown! (Did you know that we make them?)

Our selection of black-and-white fabrics is ideal for adding an original, fun touch without disrupting the harmony of the whole: Skulls by Riley Blake, star-print knit fabric and Firefly Whisper by Art Gallery Fabrics.

3. ROMANTIC AND DREAMY.

habitaciones para pequesThis proposal from ButterlyBelle is ideal for inspiring spaces with a romantic, dreamy touch. The wall decor, made up of circles and stars in soft shades, is made from decals. A very current trend that produces wonderful results is placing pictures, garlands, and all kinds of signs with messages, words, or names. To recreate this type of atmosphere, your greatest allies are flowers, either as decorative elements or in the fabrics you use for bedding, cushions, etc. Our fabric suggestions to accompany this look are pink stitches by Lake House Dry Goods, multicolor flurry by Dashwood Studios and aqua polka dots by Riley Blake.

+1. HOUSE BEDS!

habitaciones para pequesAnd one trend we've seen a lot on social media and websites lately is this wonderful floor-level house bed design. Very simple to build and wonderful in the results. They work well with any kind of setting, but especially minimalist ones: very simple lines, few pieces of furniture, uncluttered spaces… If you like DIY and/or are handy, this will be a piece of cake for you.

We hope these special ideas for creating unique kids' rooms where you can watch them grow up happy have inspired you. We certainly loved them.

Time to redecorate!
