How to make an elastic flower crown in three simple steps.
Today we’ll explain how to make an elastic flower crown with artificial flowers: fabric, felt, foam… We’ll follow a different process from the one usually used for natural flower crowns, which are more suitable for exceptional occasions because of their limited lifespan.
The most common way to make crowns usually uses wire as the basic structure. The problem is that, over time, they end up being a little uncomfortable, digging into the forehead area, and they aren’t especially delicate. However, if we use elastic as the structure on which to place the flowers, we’ll be much more comfortable and can wear it for longer without feeling any discomfort.
What do you need for your elastic flower crown?
A piece of elastic in a width appropriate to the size of the flowers.
A little felt or fabric in the color of the flowers.
Needle and thread.
Fabric glue
And the flowers, of course!

How to make the elastic flower crown.
1. Sew the piece of elastic into a circle, using the circumference of your head as the measurement (or that of the person who will wear the crown).
2. Cut small circular pieces of felt appropriate to the size of the flower bases and sew them along the elastic. Keep in mind the spacing you want to leave between the flowers when positioning them. The felt serves as a fixed base for gluing the flowers, since if we glue them directly onto the elastic, they would fall off when it stretches. It’s best to sew the little circles on one at a time so you can observe the result.
3. Glue the flowers onto the felt bases.
Depending on how you’re going to wear the crown, glue them around the entire circumference of the elastic or only along the top. You can also place them close together so the elastic doesn’t show, or leave space between them for a different effect.
