Have you ever wondered why, when children go to bed, we give them a stuffed teddy bear so they feel protected? It doesn’t have to be a bear: it could be a dog, a cat, a donkey, a dolphin, a rabbit… Whatever it is, it’s most likely to be a mammal or a bird. If you’re curious, keep reading, because today’s post will not only show you some of the most beautiful animal fabrics in the shop, but also tell you a story.
(We love stories!). A story you might be able to tell your little one in bed the next time they ask for their stuffed friend to sleep with them.
Power animalsDo you know what power animals are? You’ve probably heard of them, but you may not have a clear idea.
Power animals are protective spirits and are common to all cultures. In tribal cultures, for example, the whole tribe is under the protection of one of these animals, another protects each family, and each individual has their own. That animal represents our deepest, most authentic self; it has qualities we need at specific moments in our lives. That’s why it can change over time.
Sometimes we need the strength of the bear; sometimes, the power of the elephant; at other times, the wisdom of the owl or the loyalty of the dog.
A power animal doesn’t have to be majestic or impressive, and it doesn’t have to be our favorite animal. Your power animal might be a clever little mouse or a fast, skittish rabbit. Think of it this way: what the animal brings back to you are the essential qualities you need at each stage of your life.
