What you’ll make
Sew a book-style document holder with organized storage for travel papers, identification, cards, money, and small keepsakes.
The interior combines a zippered compartment with several open pockets. Elastic cord closes the folded holder, and a Kraft-Tex label can identify the owner or trip.
This construction avoids the extensive bias binding used in the earlier travel document holder.

Fabric and notions
The demonstrated version uses waterproof world-map fabric, double-sided interfacing, elastic cord, a zipper, and a Kraft-Tex scrap.
The coated fabric wipes clean and helps protect the contents from spills or rain. Finish exposed edges if you substitute a fabric that frays.
Make it your own
Use one fabric throughout or combine two prints. Add a name, destination, or small stamped motif to the Kraft-Tex detail.
Anchor the elastic on either side of the holder to change where it appears when wrapped around the closed cover.
Verified measurements
The PDF starts with a 28 × 28 cm base and provides separate measured pieces for the zippered pocket, open pockets, and card pocket.
