What you’ll make
Sew a personalized drawstring gift sack decorated with an appliqué of Melchior, Caspar, or Balthazar.
The templates include all three Kings and a framed area for a name. Make personalized sacks or label one for each King to organize holiday gifts.
The sample has a contrasting upper band, a cord channel, and a small boxed base for added depth.

Fabric and materials
The sample uses burlap for the sack, poplin for the contrasting upper section, and assorted fabric scraps for the appliqués.
Regular cotton can replace burlap. If you use burlap, finish its edges with a zigzag or serger because the loose weave frays readily.
You will also need fusible web, bias tape, and cord. The demonstrated HeatnBond holds the pieces for stitching, while a permanent fusible can eliminate edge stitching.
Make it your own
Choose any King template, add a personal name, or label separate sacks for Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar.
Change the colors, use dark appliqués for a graphic look, or adjust the sack dimensions. Position the design after accounting for the side seam and boxed base.
The name-label template is designed for three to five letters. Lengthen it before cutting if the name is longer.
Verified sack size
The PDF specifies a 60 cm-high × 80 cm-wide main sack piece and a 15 cm-high × 80 cm-wide contrasting upper piece.
