What you’ll make
Sew a roomy lined tote for the beach or pool, finished with webbing handles, tie closures, and a fishing-net overlay that gives the exterior a nautical texture.
Inside, a zippered waterproof pocket attaches with snaps. Remove it to carry wet swimwear, lotions, or other items separately, or detach it when the pocket needs cleaning or drying.

Choosing your fabric
The sample combines a structured woven exterior with fishing net, a woven lining, waterproof terry for the pocket, and webbing for the handles.
Cut the netting larger than the base pieces so it can be positioned and secured before the excess is trimmed. If preferred, use a fabric treated to be waterproof for the removable pocket.
Make it your own
Change the exterior and net colors for a different beach look, or make the waterproof compartment from another suitable treated fabric.
