What you’ll make
Sew a structured pediatric health record cover that keeps a booklet, health insurance card, prescriptions, and other papers together in one portable organizer.
The design combines a large document pocket, a card pocket, and a full-height side pocket. An interfaced tab keeps the cover closed with either a snap or hook-and-loop tape.
Exterior and interior fabrics enclose the pocket assembly, while topstitching around the finished cover secures the layers and closes the turning opening.

Fabric and materials
Use exterior and interior fabric with lightweight or medium-weight interfacing, depending on how much body you want the cover to have.
Make the organizer in one fabric or combine coordinating prints. A snap is demonstrated for the closure, while hook-and-loop tape is a supported alternative if you do not have snap-setting tools.
Make it your own
Mix prints or contrasting colors across the cover, pockets, and topstitching. Leave extra room when positioning the closure if the organizer will regularly hold several papers.
Although designed for a pediatric health record booklet, the same format can organize other documents. It can also become a planner cover with storage for business cards.
